When the rains carried me away...

.. as u all probably know I am quite the hopeless romantic when it comes to rains.. but here is a lesson learnt...to prevent any of u guys on the BC list from doing what I did today... Happily drove to work listening to Kumar Sanu croonnig Aashiqui songs ( yes.. the rains even make his nasal overtones better for me. tho I couldn'tt do Himes bhai.. even in the middle of a torrential downpour.. and by "doing" I mean listening.. goodness people !!!! .. grow up..)

anyway.. so after a few rounds of - dheerey dheerey se and saanso ki zaroorat hai in very poor visibility but a stupid grin on my face, I finally saw the light where I was supposed to take a right and reached the plant; parked where i always do.. (a great distance from the building).. (reason - something about getting more steps in your daily life is good for u crap) ..

and with my little back pack and lunch bag and an umbrella that almost wanted to do the famous backflip, stuck to my head.. braved 50 mph winds and torrential rain to get into the building.. the umbrella just prevented my head from staying slightly dry... but then the rest of me was .. well to put it mildly cold and wet.. and let me tell u.. no matter how comfy and sexy gap jeans may be.. when they cling to your calves.. it is NOT a fun feeling... and for those of u with a slightly overactive imagination on this BC list.. I am not into the white wet t-shirt thingy so came in as professional as ever.... but this is not where the story ends...

After I was logged in and saw some of your happy faces as green/red dots on my gtalk list.. had this sudden feeling that I left my headlights on.. u know the kinda feeling when u are 40 miles from home and u wonder if you really did lock the front door...yup.. that kind.. sick and irritating.. so off I went again.. braving the elements and sure enuf there was my little bug with all the indicator lights on.. trust Volkswagen to come up with a power saving feature of detecting the engine was off and turning off the headlights.. I guess seeing the llittle lights on though, made the rain walk worthwhile... turned off the lights.. and then again almost blew back into the building... btw.. Chicago ( and u know hu u are on that list) is NOT THE WINDIEST CITY... LEHI UTAH IS.. OMG...

Anyway... so bottom line... make sure, no matter where u are drive safe, turn off whatever u need to..and dont get too carried away by the elements so u don;t hear that proverbial beeping in the car that comes on when u don't do what you are supposed to....

Cheers all.. I am still loving the rains here btw..tho my calves are still cold :(
