Change is not a choice....

Penning down my thoughts about something a wee bit meaningful than food after a while.. A friend recommended I watch the movie Adaptation... so I did...there was this one phrase that struck a chord deep down somewhere.. when Meryl Streep says.. "change is not a choice"... the timing of my watching this movie couldn't have been better because today is also the day when I was closing a chapter in life professionally and hoping to open a new one in a few weeks time.. The phrase also made me think back on my 37 years and the various times I was faced with change... and they seemed to have come up at each step...

Your home, environment, relationships, people you meet, all of it impacts you, brings about a bit of change now and then and one fine day you look back and you tell yourself.. wow !!. I wouldn't have thought I could do or say that 10 years ago !!! :) Change will do that to you I guess.. make you say, do, feel and experience things that you were wary of... I talk about change all the time in my trainings on organizational development and other such blah! and that how it is the only constant in life.. that is true... but today that phrase really made me realize that much as we want to be and seem to be in control of various situations in our life, often time change occurs when we are least expecting.. accepting it is often hard, embracing it is harder and learning from it to become a better person is the real trick !

The new year has opened me upto myself in an interesting way, sounds a wee bit egotistical maybe but various incidents have given me the confidence to accept change more graciously in life coz , when I was least expecting, those very incidents made it more meaningful, more interesting.. so Life.. I ask u to BRING IT ON !!!.. ;)

A warm afternoon on a cold day...

The weather channel predicted lots of snow... the internet said heavy precipitation.. I woke up that morning, gingerly peeped out of the blinds and saw the eastern light kiss the snow clad ochre mountains.. and told myself.. yes it will be a good day and my friends will show up.. and go back home safe after a fun afternoon..

That is exactly what happened.. we had a fun time, just chilled on a cold day with lotsa warmth and chit chat.. it was one of those lazy Sundays where you could enjoy the day with uninterrupted bliss :) and having the right company made it all that more fun..

This clip taken by Soumya captures only a very small portion of what the afternoon was about.. but it was very sweet of him to do this.. hence I had to share it with you guys.. :)

Thanks all for making it a fun Sunday...
